Pact is currently looking for a permanent flexible Community Support Worker to work across our Intellectual Disability services in Alexandra, Cromwell & Wanaka
The role
We are looking for someone who is client-focused, easily adaptable to a dynamic environment, understanding, observant and non-judgemental. This is a demanding position where you will need to be flexible as you will be on a rotating roster, which means your shifts could change from day, evening, weekend, sleepovers and awake nights.
You will be required to work at different services across Central Otago, so if you like a diverse work week then this job will be great for someone who enjoys change. In this role, you will be paid $29.60 an hour, no qualifications needed.
Your days may vary, but will consist of:
- Engaging with clients.
- Setting and achieving individual personal goals
- Encouraging client participation in day to day life
- Supporting them with activities of daily living
- Ensuring support with medication and considering client needs
- Supporting clients with personal hygiene
- Activities within the community
- Supporting social and whanau connection
- Motivating clients to know they have purpose
- Ensuring client processes are accurately documented
- Most importantly supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives
1 x Full time Permi Flex, (80 hours a fortnight, weekend work included)
As we operate 24/7, hours of work will include day, evening, weekend, awake night and sleepover shifts.
No qualifications needed, however there will be an expectation that you will be willing to work towards a Level 4 in Health & Disability. You will inspire, encourage, be a role model plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- A full driver's licence as you will be expected to drive clients when needed
- Computer skills are essential
- If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
