Job Description

Pact is currently looking for casual Community Support Workers for our youth service in the Wellington area

At Pact Group, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Community Support Worker on a casual basis in Wellington. As part of the Lower North Corporate Services department, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals within the community.

Key responsibilities and main tasks include:

- Providing direct support to individuals in their homes or within the community.

- Assisting clients with daily activities and tasks, promoting independence and wellbeing.

- Building meaningful relationships with clients and their families to understand their needs and provide appropriate support.

- Collaborating with healthcare professionals and social services to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

- Maintaining accurate records of client interactions and progress, adhering to confidentiality protocols.

- Participating in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

 

The successful candidate will have a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Previous experience in a similar role within the community services sector is desirable. Desired Skills and Experience

Excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to build and sustain working relationships with clients, staff and external agencies is essential. Previous professional experience in the mental health field and experience of working with child and youth clients will be an advantage.

A level 4 or other relevant qualification in mental health is desirable but not essential. Otherwise, there is an expectation that you will be willing to start working towards obtaining a level 4 mental health qualification after your first year of employment.

 

  • A full driver's licence as you will be expected to drive clients when needed
  • Computer skills are essential
  • If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
  • Must be available for an interview in Wellington
