Job Description

About the Role

We currently have casual positions available (as and when required), offering a wide variety of day, evening, weekend, awake‑night, and sleepover shifts. Because this is a casual support work role, you’ll need to be comfortable picking up short‑notice shifts from time to time — perfect for someone who values flexibility and enjoys work that’s never the same two days in a rowIn this role, you'll support people as they explore their community, discover new interests, strengthen life skills, and work toward personal goals. 

In this role, you will:

  • Support people in the community as they set and achieve personal goals
  • Encourage participation in daily life and community activities
  • Provide practical assistance with routines, well-being, and skill-building
  • Model positive behaviours and foster confidence, resilience, and hope
  • Keep clear, accurate documentation to support progress
  • And most importantly, ensure the people you work with have fun and feel valued!

This role requires flexibility to work a mix of day, evening and weekend shifts.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll bring

Our Balclutha team is looking for someone with:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, positive approach, even when things get challenging 
  • A genuine passion for helping others grow and succeed
  • A full driver’s licence and basic computer skills
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 Health & Wellbeing) — or willingness to work toward one once you’re on board
  • The right to work in New Zealand (essential)
