Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for enthusiastic and energetic community support workers to work alongside clients on their journey from inpatient forensic mental health services to our community forensic step-down service, and later to the wider community. We are seeking an individual who will inspire, encourage, be a role model, plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
We are looking for someone who is client-focused, easily adaptable to a dynamic environment, understanding, observant and non-judgmental. You will need excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate resilience, integrity and professionalism.
In this role, you will:
Support people in the community as they set and achieve personal goals
Encourage participation in daily life and community activities
Provide practical assistance with routines, well-being, and skill-building
Model positive behaviours and foster confidence, resilience, and hope
Keep clear, accurate documentation to support progress and risk management
And most importantly, ensure the people you work with have fun and feel valued!
This role requires flexibility to work a mix of day and evening shifts. Availability to work weekends is a must.

Our Dunedin team is looking for someone with:
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A calm, positive approach, even when things get challenging
A genuine passion for helping others grow and succeed
A full driver’s licence and basic computer skills
A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 4 Health & Wellbeing) — or willingness to work toward one once you’re on board
