About Pact

At Pact, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a meaningful, connected life.

We are a leading provider of community, vocational, and residential support across New Zealand. We support people with intellectual disabilities, mental health and addiction challenges, and young people, to reach their goals and build independence. Our passionate team walks alongside individuals, empowering them to thrive in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.

We’ve recently expanded our services to the Kapiti Coast area to continue our mission of supporting individuals to lead fulfilling lives in the Paraparaumu community. Many of our clients come to Pact when other options have been exhausted – and we’re proud to be the team that helps them find stability, hope and independence again.

Job Description

About the Role

If you’re someone who enjoys a challenge and has experience (professional or lived) supporting young people with complex needs, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you will:

  • Support a young man (teen age) as they set and achieve personal goals
  • Encourage school and community engagement
  • Provide practical assistance with routines, wellbeing, and skill-building
  • Model positive behaviours and foster confidence, resilience, and hope
  • Keep clear, accurate documentation to support progress
  • And most importantly, the young man you work with has fun and feels valued!

We currently have full-time positions (80 hours per fortnight) with a variety of day, evening, weekend, awake night, and sleepover shifts.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll bring

Our Kapiti Coast team is looking for someone with:

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A positive attitude and calm approach in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for helping others grow and succeed
  • A full driver’s licence and basic computer skills
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 4 Mental Health) — or willingness to work toward one once you’re on board
  • Must have the right to work in New Zealand

What will Pact offer you?

At Pact, you’ll be part of a supportive, down-to-earth team that cares equally about our staff as we do the people we support. We offer you:

  • In-house training to ensure you have the skills and knowledge to best support our clients
  • $26.80 - $31.47 per hour based on qualification
  • Celebrate your milestones with Long Service benefits
  • Encouragement and support to achieve the NZQA Level 4 Qualification
  • Free Employee Assistance if you require additional, confidential support
  • Watch people grow and blossom whilst celebrating every achievement
