Job Description

The Role

Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

$70,000 - $80,000

Richmond-based with regional travel

We're looking for an experienced training specialist to deliver high-quality education and training programmes across Pact's services. Based in Richmond, you'll travel regularly throughout the West Coast, Upper South Island, and Greater Wellington regions, ensuring our staff develop the skills and confidence needed to provide excellent support to our clients.

You'll deliver training in varied settings using in-person, distance learning, and videoconferencing methods, creating engaging learning environments for diverse learners. Working with the Training and Development team (based in Dunedin), you'll also design, review, and evaluate training programmes to ensure consistency and effectiveness.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver and facilitate education and training programmes across multiple regions
  • Embody and promote Pact's values, vision, and support frameworks
  • Develop and update training materials collaboratively
  • Coach staff on client support strategies

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

  • Teacher, educator, or adult training qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience designing and delivering training using varied adult learning methods
  • Knowledge of or experience working with people with disabilities, mental health and addiction issues, and/or vulnerable youth
  • Strong understanding of empowerment, self-determination, and strengths-based approaches
  • Cultural competency and excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to travel regularly (including overnight stays) to West Coast, Upper South Island, and Greater Wellington regions
  • Comfortable with videoconferencing delivery
  • Current full and valid NZ driver's licence
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour support, recovery models, and te whare tapa whā
  • NGO or community support sector experience
