Job Description
Pact is looking for FULL TIME permanent flexible Community Support Workers in our services across the wider Wellington area
The role
We are looking for someone who is client-focused, easily adaptable to a dynamic environment, understanding, observant and non-judgemental. This is a demanding position where you will need to be flexible as you will be on a rotating roster, which means your shifts could change from day, evening, weekend, sleepovers and awake nights.
This position requires you to work at various intellectual disability/mental health and youth services. If you enjoy a diverse work week and constant change, this job could be ideal for you. Due to the different shifts and locations involved, the pay is $30.47 per hour.
Please note that this role can be quite demanding, so only apply if you're comfortable with variation and can be flexible with your schedule. No specific qualifications are needed.
Your days may vary, but will consist of:
Engaging with clients
Setting and achieving individual personal goals
Encouraging client participation in day to day life
Supporting them with activities of daily living
Ensuring support with medication and considering client needs
Supporting clients with personal hygiene
Activities within the community
Supporting social and whanau connection
Motivating clients to know they have purpose
Ensuring client processes are accurately documented
Most importantly supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives
As we operate 24/7, hours of work will include day, evening, weekend and awake night shifts.
The hours of work are at present: 2 x Full time (80 hours per fortnight)
Desired Skills and Experience
Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to build and sustain working relationships with our client, staff and external agencies is essential. Previous professional experience in the mental health field is desirable.
A level 4 or other relevant qualification in mental health is also desirable but not essential. Otherwise, there is an expectation that you will be willing to start working towards obtaining a level 4 mental health qualification after your first year of employment.
