Job Description

Pact is seeking a Community Support Worker to work full-time, flexible hours, across Central Otago, supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities.

The Role

Your role will include supporting clients' participation in meaningful community activities, helping with daily house tasks, and assisting with personal hygiene. You will also assist in gaining and maintaining social, health, education, whanau, and cultural reconnection.

Excellent communication and networking skills, and building and sustaining working relationships with clients, staff, and external agencies are essential. Previous professional experience in the intellectual disability field will be an advantage.

In this role, the successful candidate will need to work across our Central Otago services in Alexandra, Cromwell, and Wanaka. The Permanent Flexible role does not have a shift pattern, so you must be available to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnights. You will be given a roster at least two weeks in advance. ​​​​​​

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills and Experience

  • A full driver's licence is essential 
  • Must have the right to work in New Zealand (visas must be valid for more than twelve months)
  • A level 4 or other relevant qualification in mental health is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships with clients, staff, and external agencies
