Job Description
Pact is looking for Part-time and Casual Community Support Workers in the Motueka area to support people with Intellectual Disabilities.
The Role
Your role will include supporting the clients in participating in meaningful activities in the community, helping with daily house tasks, and assisting with personal hygiene. You will also assist in gaining and maintaining social, health, education, whanau, and cultural reconnection.
Excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to build and sustain working relationships with clients, staff and external agencies is essential. Previous professional experience in the intellectual disability field will be an advantage.
As we operate 24/7, hours of work will include day, evening, weekend, awake night, and sleepover shifts.
We currently have two roles available: 1 x Part-time (64 hours per fortnight) and 1 x Casual.
Encouraging and motivating client participation in day-to-day life
Supporting them with activities of daily living, including in the community
Ensuring support with medication and personal hygiene
Supporting social and whanau connection
Ensuring client processes are accurately documented
Most importantly, supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives
Desired Skills and Experience
Pact is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to work alongside people with an intellectual disability who will inspire, encourage, be a role model, plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
A full driver's licence and computer skills are essential.
If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
