Job Description

Pact is looking for a permanent flexible Community Support Worker to work in our MH residential services across the wider Wellington area

The Role

We are looking for someone who is client-focused, easily adaptable to a dynamic environment, understanding, observant, and non-judgemental.

If you enjoy variety and like a diverse work week, this job will be great for you. This is a very demanding position, and therefore, flexibility is expected due to a rotating roster. You will be required to work at different mental health services per operational needs. As we operate 24/7 services, this will include day, evening, weekend, sleepovers, and awake nights. In this role, you will be paid $30.47 an hour; no qualifications are needed.

Your days may vary, but will consist of:

  • Engaging with clients
  • Setting and achieving individual personal goals
  • Encouraging client participation in day-to-day life
  • Supporting them with activities of daily living
  • Ensuring support with medication and considering client needs
  • Supporting clients with personal hygiene
  • Activities within the community
  • Supporting social and whanau connection
  • Motivating clients to know they have a purpose
  • Ensuring client processes are accurately documented
  • Most importantly, supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives

This is a full time permanent position of 80 hours per fortnight.

We operate 24/7, work hours will include day, evening, weekend, awake night and sleepover shifts.

Desired Skills and Experience

No qualifications are needed; however, you will be encouraged and supported to work towards a Health & Wellbeing Certificate Level 4. You will inspire, encourage, and be a role model, plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

  • A full driver's licence, as you will be expected to drive clients when needed
  • Computer skills are essential
  • If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
